Many of the Parks & Recreation Building and Properties are available to rent for private parties.  Among these are Riverside Center, Gym, Pool, and all of the Picnic Shelters within the parks maintained by the Decatur-Adams County Parks and Recreation Office.

city pool

The Decatur City Pool is available for rental during its off hours on Saturdays and Sundays only starting at 5:00 pm.  Your fee for the rental includes the number of lifeguards that will insure the safety of your guests.  To rent the pool please go to Riverside Center beginning March 1st, 2010. There is a pool rental agreement form that you must fill out. Please book your rental at least one week in advance so that we may properly staff your event.

gym

The Gymnasium located in the Adams County Service Complex is available for rental.  Contact the Parks and Recreation staff at 724-5332 for more information.

There are covered picnic shelters available for rental at the following parks:

American Legion Park
Kekionga Park

Be sure to make arrangements to stop by Riverside Center to pick up the keys (the Friday before) to the restrooms before you go out to the park.  Reservations may be made by calling Riverside Center at 724-2520.

Rental Fee
Deposit: $40.00

($20.00 returned when key is returned within 3 business days - the remaining $20.00 will go towards pavilion, restroom upkeep, and trash pickup.)

Reservation Regulations

  1. Reservations may be made anytime after January 1st.
  2. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ALLOWED.
  3. Motorized vehicles restricted to roadways and parking lots.
  4. Behavior which protects the park, its facilities, and visitors must be maintained at all times.
  5. City Park Rules and Regulations Chapter 95 of City Code.

The Park Department staff cleans our facilities during the week during the summer. much time and tax dollars are spent trying to keep our parks clean. Since our pavilions are not locked, we hope our facility will be nice upon your arrival. However, we cannot guarantee this nor the availability of toilet tissue in our restrooms. Please assist our staff in keeping the park clean by leaving the shelter and grounds free of litter. We hop you enjoy your day in the park. Thank you for using our facilities.
