EMA

The Adams County Emergency Management Agency was established in 1965 after the Palm Sunday Tornado to assist the citizens of Adams County in the event of any type of disaster, whether man-made or a natural event.

This office is charged with working with all emergency services in the county to assist them with their needs by developing plans and resources for any type of equipment or personnel request in each area of the County.

Emergency Management is divided into four sections: Preparedness, which is developing plans for an event, Response is the actual part of dealing with an emergency incident, Mitigation refers to activities which actually eliminate or reduce the chance of occurrence or the effects of a disaster.

; the final part, is restoring everything back to as near normal as possible before the incident happened.
